In a continued effort to feed hungry students in our schools, FB4K is offering food pantries to our district’s three high schools, four middle schools and the local Boys & Girls Club. The metal cabinets can be stocked with easy to prepare meals and healthy snacks and give students direct access to food to avoid hunger and focus on learning.
Because the pantry is a campus-run program, students seem more likely to utilize its services because they see it as a student resource rather that a community program.
We currently have a pantry at all three high schools and 3 out of 4 middle schools. We have received positive feedback from school staff about the pantries and they are excited to have this direct access resource in their school.
